The Birthday Girl (Twice)

We ended up having two big birthday parties for Grace. We knew that we would be traveling back to Indiana for a few weeks, so we planned a party for Gracie with all of her family, but we also wanted to have a party with her "family" in Salisbury too.

Grace's first birthday party was in Salisbury on June 28. We had over 60 people in our house that day, so obviously our Gracie Girl is very loved. We went with a Backyardigans theme, because that's her favorite show. Whenever the theme song comes on, everything stops and she's dancing. It was a great party with lots of food, a yummy Pablo cake, and we even had a bouncy for the kids.

Grace seemed to really enjoy her cake. She didn't get it everywhere, but she did manage to get a lot in her hair :) She loved opening her presents too. She's very good at taking the tissue paper out of the bag. She got lots of clothes and plenty of new toys.

Grace's second birthday party was a blast too. We had it at my dad's house last Saturday and although some people couldn't make it, over 50 members of her family came to celebrate. It was a beautiful day and it was so great to see everyone.

I wasn't so sure how Grace would do with the fam, since she doesn't really remember anyone and she's been very clingy to mommy lately, but she did great and I just tried to stay out of sight whenever someone would want to hold her. I've realized that she does much better when she can't see me. She dived right into her second cake just like a pro, and she got lots of great gifts too.

Thanks to everyone for celebrating Grace's first birthday with us. It was amazing to see the love and support from family and friends. We are so very blessed to have such wonderful people in our lives!
